Launching this summer:

In Summer 2022, AsiaSlate brings to you an exclusive program from IDEAS, foreign policy think tank at the London School of Economics (LSE).

Global China: Diplomacy, Business and Strategy in a Transforming World is a comprehensive look at China today, tailored to students and professionals in India and other parts of the Global South. Faculty from across the globe will cover:

– China's foreign policy and trade interests in its neighborhood, such as with Taiwan, and in the ASEAN region,
– Its complex economic and political relationships in Africa and Latin America, and what they tell us about China's objectives in the Global South,
– What U.S.-China competition means for the rest of the world, and the future of global technology and climate infrastructure,
and a whole lot more.
In Summer 2022, AsiaSlate will bring a program to Christ University, co-created with the university's Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS).

Decoding Contemporary China is a 4-week certification program.

The 21st century is widely expected to be the 'Asian century'. As Asian hubs of development, innovation, employment, culture, and region-defining geopolitics emerge and grow, it is crucial that we turn our gaze from the West to the East – including players such as China.

In this 4-week program, we will critically examine China's trajectory and answer questions such as:
– What are the driving forces that have shaped contemporary China’s identity?
–What are the objectives, and grand-strategic imperatives, behind China’s foreign policy moves?
– What role does China see itself playing in Asia?
– Can China continue to be indispensable to global supply chains?
– Can China's state machinery respond effectively to the growing challenges of healthcare, the environment, and continued economic growth?
